TAYSIDE CARER STRUCK OFF FOR ‘SEXUALLY MOTIVATED’ TOUCHING AND SLAPPING WOMAN’S BOTTOM
A Tayside social care worker has been struck off after he inappropriately touched a woman and slapped her bottom.Enique Kebiru Abu-Yakubu, employed as a care and support worker by myCare Tayside at the time of the incidents in March 2024, was found by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to have slapped the woman’s bottom and touched her breasts without her consent during his employment.
The woman was distressed by his actions.
The SSSC confirmed evidence of "sexually motivated" misconduct on or around March 8, following an investigation.
Abu-Yakubu continues to deny the allegations, stating that there was no evidence to support the claims.
The SSSC proved that he slapped the woman, referred to as AA, on the bottom without consent, moved his hands up her legs and indecently touched her genitals, and touched her breasts without consent, contributing to her distress.
The matter was reported to police but no criminal action was taken against him, as confirmed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
Following disciplinary proceedings, Abu-Yakubu was dismissed by myCare Tayside.
