EMMA CLARK FROM MELTON MOWBRAY AND MARCH, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, STARVES MULTIPLE ANIMALS TO DEATH

Emma Louise Clark, also known by aliases such as Emma Lounds and Emma Anderson, has been found guilty of a heinous case of animal neglect that spanned several months. Originally residing in St Peters Walk, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, Clark later moved to A1 Deerfield Road, March, Cambridgeshire, with her current address being PE15 9AH. Over a period of nearly four months, she deliberately left ten animals to suffer and ultimately die from starvation, including dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, and a lizard.

Among her pets were a German Shepherd named Beast, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Tyson, and a Mexican hairless dog named Stanley. She also kept a cat named Mittens, a kitten named Lucy, a leopard gecko named Leonard, as well as a boa constrictor and a corn snake. Additionally, she owned two domestic rabbits. The neglect and cruelty inflicted upon these animals resulted in their tragic deaths, a heartbreaking outcome for loyal companions who depended on her care.

The case drew significant attention from the RSPCA, which conducted multiple inspections of Clark’s residence between November 1, 2014, and February 22, 2015. During these visits, Clark repeatedly claimed that all her animals had been re-homed, providing false reassurances to the inspectors. However, when authorities finally discovered the animals in March, it became evident that many had been dead for months, their bodies left in cages with no access to food or water.

RSPCA officials described the situation as one of the worst cases of animal neglect they had encountered, emphasizing that the suffering was entirely preventable. Sheona Morley, a representative from the charity, expressed her shock, stating, “In my 20 years, this is the most horrific case I’ve ever been to – it is also the saddest. It was absolute horror to see all those animals had died from starvation, left in their cages with no access to food or water.”

During her court appearance, magistrates condemned Clark’s actions, describing her treatment of the animals as effectively locking them up and allowing them to starve to death. As a result of her cruelty, she was sentenced to 18 weeks in custody and received a lifelong ban on keeping animals. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of animal welfare and the devastating consequences of neglect.
