Drunk Scots soldier fined for exposing himself outside Dundee nightclub

DRUNK SCOTS SOLDIER FINED FOR EXPOSING HIMSELF OUTSIDE DUNDEE NIGHTCLUB

A drunken soldier based at Leuchars Station in Fife has received a fine of nearly £1,000 after a disturbing incident outside the Underground nightclub in Dundee.

Elliot Whelpton, 29, refused to pay the entry fee and proceeded to expose himself to a nightclub worker by slap his penis onto a ledge in front of her, while stating: "I've not got a ticket, but I've got a d***." The incident, which was captured on CCTV and subsequently reported to police, occurred on 25 January of the previous year.

Whelpton admitted to the court that he had exposed himself, behaved in a public indecency manner, and brandished his genitals towards the woman.

The sheriff described his conduct as a "disgusting offence" that caused significant distress to the victim.

While he acknowledged his lack of prior convictions, Sheriff Paul Brown fined Whelpton £990 but chose not to impose a community payback order, citing that it would "deprive the army of your service." Whelpton, who is associated with the army, was given 28 days to settle the fine.

The court was informed that the entire incident was documented on CCTV and reported to police.

Whelpton pled guilty on the day of his trial, further confirming his act of public indecency.
