    ELIZABETH NEEDS BLAMES HOSPITAL STAY FOR STEALING £1,200 IN BLAIRGOWRIE

    In a case that has shocked the community of Blairgowrie, Elizabeth Needs, a 61-year-old woman with a history of criminal behavior, was brought before Perth Sheriff Court to face charges of theft and deception. The incident involved the theft of a substantial sum of money from an 87-year-old woman named Bunty Farrand, who was hospitalized at the time for a leg amputation.

    According to court records, Needs had befriended Miss Farrand, gaining her trust over time. During Miss Farrand’s hospital stay, Needs took advantage of her vulnerable state and stole £1,200 from her. The theft was particularly distressing because it occurred while Miss Farrand was undergoing a serious medical procedure, leaving her unable to defend herself or monitor her belongings.

    After the theft was discovered, Needs was ordered by Perth Sheriff Court to repay the stolen amount. However, when she appeared in court again, she offered a surprising and somewhat bizarre explanation for her actions. Needs claimed that she had simply
