ALLEGED CHILD SEX OFFENDER EDWIN GODDEN REPORTEDLY SEEN PERFORMING IN SWAFFHAM DESPITE POLICE BAIL CONDITIONS
An alleged child sex offender has been seen performing in a town centre he is banned from, it has been claimed.A resident tipped the Lynn News off that Edwin Godden, 53, has been seen singing and playing music in Swaffham.
Godden is currently on bail with strict conditions, awaiting trial for historic child sex offences which allegedly took place in 2010.
In June last year, the former Swaffham town crier was charged with four counts of penetrative sexual activity with a child and one count of rape.
Norfolk Police has confirmed that Godden is on conditional bail until his trial on December 14 this year.
Conditions include him not entering Swaffham unless while on public transport, and he must not exit the vehicle in the town.
Godden must also wear an electrically monitored GPS tag and report to Lynn Police Station every Monday and Friday.
Swaffham Town Council told the Lynn News that it is not aware that Godden has been performing in the town centre.
