CREEPY NEWQUAY STALKER FLEW TO ITALY TO DELIVER CHOCOLATES AT VICTIM'S HOUSE
Edward Crook, 33, from Springfield Close in St Austell, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison at Truro Crown Court for mounting a stalking campaign against a woman he worked with for 2 years between February 2023 and April 2025.
The court heard how Crook became so infatuated with his colleague at the Scarlett Hotel in Mawgan Porth near Newquay that he became obsessive, making her life difficult.
Despite being told to stop and that his advances were unwanted, Crook continued to harass her via social media, contact her friends, and even go to her address.
He escalated his behavior by walking out of the showers at work with just a towel to confront her about his feelings, and he traveled to Italy to her family home in Tuscany, where he delivered chocolates and a Valentine's card without her presence.
After leaving his job, the stalking persisted, including breaching a non-molestation order by contacting her.
Crook was arrested, and during police interviews, he mostly admitted his behavior, claiming the victim enjoyed the attention.
He was found guilty of stalking involving serious alarm/distress and breaching the non-molestation order.
The victim reported difficulty sleeping, feeling watched, and changing her work routine due to his actions.
