MAN, 74, JAILED AFTER BEING CONVICTED OF SEX ASSAULT
A man has been imprisoned following a conviction for sexually assaulting a woman in Norfolk.
Edward Carter, aged 74, was handed a sentence of 15 months after being found guilty of one count of sexual assault, with the victim remaining unnamed for legal reasons.
The case was heard at Norwich Crown Court last year, with the incident occurring in Melton Constable, near Holt, in February 2019.
At the trial, Carter, of Hunworth Road, Holt, was acquitted of a charge of assault by penetration but convicted of another sexual offence.
He received his sentence earlier this month, along with a three-year restraining order and a 10-year requirement to be on the sex offenders register.
