DISGUSTING MESSAGES EX-ROYAL MAIL MANAGER SENT ‘UNDERAGE GIRL’ WHO WAS PAEDOPHILE HUNTER
A former Royal Mail executive admitted to sending despicable messages to an underage girl and planning to meet her for sexual activity.Edmund Phipps pleaded guilty to attempting to induce a girl aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual penetration.
The 50-year-old had made arrangements to meet a 14-year-old girl but was caught in an undercover operation by a self-proclaimed paedophile hunter named Danny Catcher.
In recorded text messages, Phipps claimed the girl would be “gentle” and expressed indifference about her being a virgin.
Although he was informed that the girl was only 14, he sent her a topless photo and planned to meet her, saying he could “have you all to myself.” Phipps had scheduled to meet the girl in Bath on July 12 of the previous year but was intercepted by Mr.
Catcher.
Following this, officers from Avon and Somerset police arrested him at his home on Friary Road in Gloucester.
Phipps is scheduled for sentencing at Bristol Crown Court on March 7.
A Royal Mail spokesperson confirmed he was a former employee and had been on leave since his arrest.
During the encounter, Phipps refused to admit wrongdoing and was detained until police arrived.
A police officer stated: “He went to Bath in the summer of 2017 intending to meet a child for sex, and he fully understands that what he did was wrong and that there is no way out of this...
He poses a danger to children, and I am glad he pleaded guilty.”
