NOTTINGHAM MAN DYLAN SMITH JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING NEW MOTHER OUTSIDE HOSPITAL
A woman, who had recently given birth and arrived at Nottingham’s Queen's Medical Centre with stomach pains, was sexually assaulted outside the hospital while she was vulnerable.
Nottingham Crown Court heard how Dylan Smith approached her, tried to kiss her, and then put his hands down her leggings.
The victim managed to pull his arm away but he approached her again roughly five minutes later, attempting to kiss her for a second time.
Smith, of Cromford Road, Langley Mill, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offender register for 10 years.
The judge, Michael Auty KC, described the incident as "absolutely appalling behavior" and emphasized the victim’s vulnerability since she had just given birth and was inside a hospital.
Smith was under the influence of drink or drugs during the attack.
