ABERDEEN MAN’S DRUNKEN RAGE RESULTS IN COURT ORDER AFTER XBOX DESTRUCTION
An intoxicated individual named Dylan Ritchie, aged 24, erupted into a violent rage after a dispute involving noise from his gaming activity.During the incident, which Sheriff Philip Mann described as reminiscent of a child's tantrum, Ritchie damaged multiple household items and caused property damage in his home on Bishopsloch Row in Dyce.
The altercation was sparked when his partner asked him to lower the noise while playing Call of Duty.
In his drunken state, Ritchie behaved aggressively, punching a television, smashing a window with a rock, and throwing household objects including his own Xbox and computer games console out of a window.
He also accused his partner of infidelity and damaged shared and his own property.
The police were called by his partner, and upon arrival, Ritchie made comments indicating he had seen messages between her and another male.
He ultimately pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
His defense team described him as a first offender and stated the incident was "drink-fuelled" and out of character.
The court, considering the episode as childish behavior, ordered Ritchie to complete 50 hours of community service, noting that mature adults should be able to handle such situations without losing control.
