BRUCE COPELAND SENTENCED IN DYCE FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TWO GIRLS

In November 2016, a man named Bruce Copeland was handed a prison sentence following his conviction on multiple serious sexual offence charges. The court proceedings took place at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where Copeland, an unemployed individual aged 48, was found guilty of abusing two young girls over a span of several years.

Copeland’s address was listed as Princess Way, Dyce, a location that became central to the case. The jury convicted him of engaging in lewd, indecent, and libidinous practices against the two minors, with the offences occurring between 1998 and 2004. In addition to these charges, he was also convicted of a separate count of sexual touching, further highlighting the severity of his actions.

Following the verdict, Sheriff Graeme Napier sentenced Copeland to two years in prison. The sheriff emphasized the gravity of the offences, stating, “I consider this offending as sufficiently serious, that the only way I can deal with it, is with a custodial sentence.”

In addition to his prison term, Copeland was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of ten years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to his conduct.
