BRIGHTON TEENAGER ATTACKED AND JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT BY DYLAN HOLDEN
Two men who raped and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Brighton’s Pavilion Gardens have been sentenced to a total of 22.5 years in prison.The victim, who was described as being in a vulnerable state at the time, was attacked by Ashley Lewis, 36, formerly of Albermarle Road in Bromley, and Dylan Holden, 18, of West Street in Brighton, in June 2021 after police were alerted by a member of the public.
CCTV footage showed Lewis had stolen items from the girl’s bag—these items were later recovered from his home.
In court, the victim described the profound impact on her life, stating she’s been plagued by nightmares and explaining, “Whenever I left my house.
I couldn’t get away from it and, sometimes, I still can’t.” She also conveyed her relief at the verdict, saying it lifted a weight but acknowledged the trauma still lingers.
Sussex Police emphasized support for victims, encouraging anyone aware of a sexual offence to report it online or call emergency services.
The offenders received lengthy jail sentences, reflecting the severity of their crimes.
The court proceedings included heartbreaking statements from the victim about the lasting emotional scars inflicted on her life.
