DUNCAN MCPHEE FROM BRIDGE OF EARN FACES COURT OVER VIOLENT OUTBURSTS AND ASSAULTS

Duncan McPhee, a resident of Smillie Place in Bridge of Earn, has become the subject of serious legal proceedings following a series of troubling incidents that have brought him before the courts. The recent court appearance saw McPhee admit to charges related to threatening and abusive behavior that was deemed likely to cause fear or alarm among those present.

The incidents in question include a disturbing episode at the Balmanno recreational park in Bridge of Earn, where McPhee reportedly lost his temper and directed offensive language towards children. Witnesses described him calling the youngsters “mongos” and “a bunch of retards,” language that is both highly offensive and indicative of his aggressive state of mind. Additionally, he directed a racial slur at a boy, making a derogatory remark that included the words, “Your dad’s a f***ing w*****.”

Further troubling behavior was reported at a birthday party, where McPhee was involved in an assault on a woman. Court documents revealed that on July 1 of the previous year, around 4:40 pm, McPhee entered a playpark in Bridge of Earn, where he began shouting and swearing at a woman. He demanded £200 from her, threatening to remain at the scene until he was paid, all the while shouting at her children. This aggressive confrontation caused significant distress to those present.

In addition to this, McPhee was involved in another violent incident in September 2021 at a property on Chaise Road. During this altercation, he assaulted the same woman by headbutting her on the forehead as she attempted to leave the scene. The impact resulted in her sustaining a lump on her head, highlighting the severity of the assault.

Judge Euan Duthie, presiding over the case, decided to defer sentencing to allow for the preparation of background reports. McPhee was released on bail, but the judge issued a stern warning that custody was a real possibility if he failed to demonstrate proper conduct. The court also advised McPhee to get his affairs in order, emphasizing the seriousness of his actions.

McPhee’s criminal record includes a conviction from 2016, when he was found guilty of defrauding elderly victims out of more than £6,000. His scheme involved substandard roofing work, using false names, overcharging clients, and demanding additional payments for repairs. This history underscores a pattern of aggressive and dishonest behavior.

The court has scheduled his sentencing for March 9, and the judge made it clear that a prison sentence remains a very real possibility. McPhee was advised to prepare himself accordingly, given the gravity of his offenses and his prior criminal history.
