DUNDEE PAEDOPHILE CAUGHT WITH 24+HOURS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AVOIDS JAIL
Video of child sex abuse lasting more than 24 hours was discovered by police after they raided a paedophile’s Dundee home.Donald MacKillop, aged 27, is awaiting sentencing after he admitted downloading abuse material over a seven-year period.
Officers recovered an iPhone and a hard drive during a search warrant executed on November 15 of the previous year.
Prosecutor Lee-Anne Barclay outlined that the child sexual abuse and exploitation files included 23 images and 88 videos, with 50 of the videos classified as Category A, indicating the highest depravity level, featuring boys between the ages of five and 16.
MacKillop, of Mains Road, pleaded guilty to downloading this material between December 2017 and November 15, 2024.
Sentencing was deferred until September to allow for reports to be prepared, and he was placed on the sex offenders register on an interim basis.
The court emphasized the severity of the crime, with Sheriff Simon Collins KC stating: “He should be aware that given the nature of the offence and the material, a custodial sentence will be at the forefront of the court’s mind.” SENTENCING UPDATE - 17/09/2025 he placed MacKillop under supervision and on the sex offenders register, each for three years.
He ordered the pervert to complete the Moving Forward: Making Changes programme aimed at rehabilitating sex offenders.
Further, the sheriff made a string of strict conduct requirements affecting MacKillop’s internet use.
MacKillop was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and had his iPhone and hard drive forfeited.
The order was made as a direct alternative to imprisonment.
