In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Rotherham, a man named Dominic Rhodes has been found guilty of heinous crimes involving the manipulation and exploitation of vulnerable teenage girls.
The incidents, which took place over the course of 2016 and 2017, reveal a pattern of predatory behavior that targeted young girls on social media platforms, leading to severe emotional and psychological trauma.
Rhodes, who was nearing his 21st birthday at the time, managed to establish a deceptive rapport with seven girls, four of whom were only 14 years old and two as young as 13.
His method of operation involved using the popular messaging app Kik to communicate with these minors, gaining their trust through seemingly innocent conversations before gradually escalating to sexual chats.
Prosecutor Nicola Quinney outlined how Rhodes then demanded increasingly explicit images from his victims, often threatening to share their private photos with their families and friends if they refused.
