DOMINIC BROWN FROM ANDOVER SENTENCED FOR MAKING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN WINCHESTER
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community of Andover, a 29-year-old man named Dominic Nathan Brown has been found guilty of creating indecent images of children. The incident, which spanned over a period of five years, from January 2011 to April 2016, culminated in his appearance at Winchester Crown Court earlier this week for sentencing.Brown, who resides on Stourhead Close in Andover, admitted to producing a total of 18 indecent images depicting minors. These images were classified into different categories based on their severity, with five being categorized as Category A, the most extreme form of such material. Additionally, he was found to have created eight images classified as Category B and five as Category C, reflecting a range of severity in the images he produced.
The court heard that Brown’s actions involved the creation of these illicit images over a five-year period, highlighting a sustained pattern of offending. His guilty plea was entered prior to the sentencing hearing, which resulted in a series of strict penalties aimed at managing his risk to the community.
As part of his sentence, Brown was ordered to complete a three-year community order. This order requires him to participate in a sex offender treatment programme, which is designed to address underlying issues and prevent future offending. Furthermore, he is mandated to attend 15 rehabilitation activity days, which are intended to support his reintegration and monitor his progress.
In addition to the community order, Brown was subjected to a five-year sexual harm prevention order. This legal measure restricts his activities and contact, aiming to protect the public from potential harm. He was also ordered to sign the sex offender register for the same duration, ensuring that authorities can monitor his whereabouts and compliance with the law.
These measures reflect the seriousness with which the court viewed Brown’s offending, emphasizing both punishment and preventative strategies to safeguard the community of Andover and beyond.
