JAILED FOR RAPING A WOMAN HE MET ON A DATING APP
A man from Porth has been sentenced to prison for raping a woman he met via a dating application.Dexter Walkley, aged 30, was convicted after a trial held at Cardiff Crown Court.
The court was informed that the pair had spent an evening out together in Cardiff and then returned to the woman’s residence.
The woman later woke up to find Walkley engaged in sexual activity with her, which she did not consent to.
Following the incident, Walkley sent a message the next day, apologising for his actions.
Although he initially denied the charge of rape, he was ultimately convicted on March 20, 2026.
On May 1, he received an eight-year prison sentence and was ordered to be subject to lifelong sex offender notification requirements, along with a restraining order that remains in effect until further notice.
