DEXTA ADAMS FROM CHATHAM, MAIDSTONE, AND WHITSTABLE JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND FACEBOOK BREACHES

In a series of disturbing criminal cases, Dexta Adams, a man with connections to Chatham, Maidstone, and Whitstable, has been subjected to lengthy prison sentences for serious offenses related to child exploitation and violations of court orders.

Back in August 2012, Adams was sentenced to a year in prison after being found guilty of repeatedly breaching a court-imposed internet ban. Despite a strict order forbidding him from using the internet, Adams accessed Facebook a total of 83 times between November 2010 and February 2012. The court heard that Adams, who was residing on London Road in Maidstone at the time, used a computer in a local library to access the social media platform. Although there was no concrete evidence that he used Facebook to view or distribute illegal images, the jury concluded that his actions constituted a clear breach of the court’s order.

Judge Andrew Patience QC emphasized the seriousness of Adams’ conduct, stating, “Although it hasn’t been shown that what you did hasn’t caused any serious sexual harm to anyone, this was a flagrant and repeated breach and demonstrating a total contempt for this court order.” The court’s decision was rooted in the fact that Adams had deliberately defied the restrictions placed upon him, highlighting a blatant disregard for legal authority.

Adams’ criminal history is extensive. In May 2008, he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after being convicted of possessing and making indecent images of children. At that time, he was living in Whitstable on Glebe Way. The police raid on his residence uncovered a horrifying collection of illegal material, including 12,000 indecent images stored on his computer’s hard drive, 400 video clips depicting child sexual abuse, 2,000 images on DVDs, and additional images on CDs. Police also found chat logs discussing child abuse websites, revealing Adams’ active involvement in the online exploitation community.

During the trial, Adams claimed that the images were “mainly artistic” and insisted he knew nothing about the material on his devices. Despite his protests, a jury convicted him on 23 charges of making indecent images of children and 16 charges of possessing such images. The court also heard that Adams had maintained websites related to child abuse and had shared these sites with others, further implicating him in the ongoing exploitation network.

At the time of his arrest in February 2006, Adams was living in Thorold Road, Chatham, with his girlfriend and her young daughter. Following his arrest, he moved to Glebe Way, Whitstable, where police seized additional devices containing more illegal images. Adams’ actions have led to a lifetime registration on the sex offenders’ register, and he is required to serve half of his sentence in custody, with the remainder on license. Furthermore, he is prohibited from owning any device capable of internet access or using computers in public libraries upon his release.

Adams’ latest conviction underscores the ongoing threat posed by individuals who exploit digital platforms for child abuse, and the judicial system’s commitment to punishing such heinous crimes and protecting vulnerable victims.
