DEVACA ROSE SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR TRAGIC HOUSE FIRE IN LONDON THAT KILLED FOUR YOUNG BOYS
In a heartbreaking case that has shocked the community, Deveca Rose, a 30-year-old woman from London, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after being found guilty of manslaughter in connection with the tragic death of her four young sons. The incident took place in their terraced residence located in Sutton, a suburb in south-west London, on the 16th of December, 2021. On that fateful day, a devastating fire erupted within the family’s home while Rose was away, leaving her children trapped and unable to escape the inferno.According to court proceedings, Rose was convicted of four counts of manslaughter following a trial held at the Old Bailey last autumn. The court acquitted her of any charges related to child cruelty, but the evidence presented painted a grim picture of the living conditions within the household. It was revealed that the home was cluttered with rubbish and human waste, creating an environment that was extremely hazardous and neglectful. The four children—Kyson and Bryson Hoath, aged four, and Leyton and Logan Hoath, aged three—were unable to escape the flames. Tragically, they perished under a bed, where they had sought refuge. The house was locked, preventing their escape, and the fire’s intensity sealed their fate within the confines of their home.
During the sentencing hearing, Judge Mark Lucraft KC emphasized that Rose had left the house to go shopping for groceries, which he described as
