DERYK ALEX FROM TOTNES SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS FOR HISTORIC INDECENT ASSAULTS

An 81-year-old man from Totnes, Deryk Alex, has been sentenced to a two-year prison term after being found guilty of indecent assault offences that took place during the 1980s. The crimes, which remained undisclosed for decades, only came to light after the victim summoned the courage to speak out, revealing a disturbing pattern of abuse that had been hidden for many years.

According to court reports, Deryk Alex employed seemingly innocent activities, such as piggy-back rides and other games, as a means to conceal his abusive behavior towards a young girl.
