DEAN WALL FROM LIVERPOOL SENTENCED FOR RAPE AND STALKING IN ANFIELD AND WAVERTREE
A man from Liverpool has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of committing a serious sexual assault and engaging in stalking behavior.Dean Wall, whose residence is listed as Pinehurst Avenue in the Anfield area, was found guilty of raping a woman and stalking her, with the incidents occurring in the Wavertree neighborhood of Liverpool.
On Friday, March 15, Wall entered the victim’s home in Wavertree and committed the act of rape.
The court proceedings culminated on Tuesday, November 5, at Liverpool Crown Court, where Wall was handed an eight-year and three-month prison sentence for the rape.
In addition to this, he received a nine-month sentence after admitting to stalking the same woman.
These sentences are to run concurrently, meaning he will serve both sentences simultaneously.
Furthermore, Wall has been subjected to a ten-year restraining order, which prohibits him from contacting or approaching the victim.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the public.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy McCourt commented on the case, expressing appreciation for the victim’s bravery and resilience throughout the investigation.
He emphasized the importance of justice and the police’s commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, stating, “I sincerely hope that this sentencing shows that violence against women and girls will simply not be tolerated and we will work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice.” Wall initially denied the charges of rape, but the jury found him guilty based on the evidence presented.
His conviction signifies a significant step in holding him accountable for his actions, and he is now set to spend a considerable period behind bars for his reprehensible conduct.
