NARBERTH MAN HANDED SUSPENDED SENTENCE AFTER POSSESSION OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY
A man named Dean Pellington was arrested as police discovered he possessed numerous images of child sex abuse and extreme pornography involving animals on his devices.Pellington was arrested initially for an unrelated matter on May 29, 2024, during which several of his electronic devices were seized.
He provided police with passwords, and after examination, authorities found more than 200 disturbing images dating back to 2022.
These images included extreme adult content such as a woman performing oral sex on a male horse, as well as images with dogs and children.
Specifically, some images involved a 12-year-old girl and an eight-year-old girl, with two being classified as the most serious kind.
Pellington initially claimed he was unaware how he received the images and suggested they might have been sent to him via a group he was part of.
He also denied any sexual interest in children or deriving gratification from the images.
Pellington, who resides in Llanteg Park in Narberth and had no prior convictions, was charged with making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography.
During sentencing at Swansea Crown Court, Judge Paul Thomas KC described the situation as 'beyond belief' and emphasized the seriousness of the images, stating they involved real children who were abused and tormented.
The judge noted that there is a market for such illicit material, implying a demand that perpetuates this harmful trade.
Pellington received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to undertake 26 sessions of an accredited program along with 20 days of rehabilitation activities.
