FORMER POLICE OFFICER HARASSED FEMALE COLLEAGUES WITH SEXUAL COMMENTS
Former Metropolitan Police officer Dean Mulqueen has been found to have gross misconduct after harassing three female colleagues with sexualised comments and unwanted contact. An accelerated misconduct hearing on 22 August 2025 heard evidence from Officers A, B and C, who described inappropriate behaviour between 2022 and 2023.
Mulqueen made repeated sexual remarks, told one colleague she was “fit as fuck,” asked another for a date, and touched them despite being told to stop.
Officer A said she was forced to actively avoid him at work, while Officer C described one shift with him as “the worst of her life.” The panel found Mulqueen’s behaviour breached the standard of Discreditable Conduct and amounted to gross misconduct.
Chair Commander Stephen Clayman ruled that if he had still been serving, dismissal without notice would have been the only appropriate sanction.
Mulqueen had already left the force, but will be placed on the College of Policing’s barred list.
