DAVID WOLFE FROM WINKFIELD SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING UNDERAGE GIRL IN WINDSOR

In June 2022, David Wolfe, a 63-year-old man residing on Elm Drive in Winkfield, faced serious criminal charges related to his inappropriate and illegal conduct involving a minor. Wolfe, who was employed as a handyman and caretaker at Forest Bridge School in Maidenhead, was found guilty of engaging in sexual activities with a child and attempting to meet her for sexual purposes.

The incident unfolded during the summer of 2020 when Wolfe made contact with a girl he believed to be 13 years old. In reality, the girl was an undercover police officer operating to catch individuals involved in child exploitation. Wolfe had initially communicated with her through an online platform, falsely claiming to be 53 years old. As their conversation progressed, they moved their interaction to WhatsApp, where Wolfe sent sexually explicit messages and requested intimate images from the girl.

Wolfe’s intentions became more apparent when he arranged to meet the girl at a park in Windsor, bringing condoms with him, indicating his intent to engage in sexual activity. Law enforcement officers were waiting for him at the designated location and apprehended him upon his arrival. During the arrest, officers seized Wolfe’s mobile phone, which contained a disturbing collection of digital material. The device held 37 indecent images, ranging from severe to less severe, as well as 50 images of extreme pornography involving a horse. Additionally, the phone contained other conversations with young children that were sexual in nature, raising further concerns about Wolfe’s activities.

Prosecutor Jon Sank emphasized that this was not an isolated incident, suggesting a pattern of predatory behavior. The court was informed that Wolfe had also sent a photograph of his genitalia to the undercover officer posing as a 13-year-old girl, further demonstrating his intent and culpability.

During the sentencing hearing at Reading Crown Court, Her Honour Judge Real condemned Wolfe for initiating contact with the girl, highlighting the significant age disparity and the danger posed by his actions. The judge remarked that she would have imposed a harsher sentence if the victim had been a real 13-year-old girl, underscoring the severity of the case.

Wolfe was ultimately sentenced to 44 months in prison. He will serve half of this sentence before becoming eligible for release. Furthermore, he will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. Wolfe showed no visible reaction upon hearing his sentence on Tuesday, June 28, as he stood in the courtroom in Reading, reflecting the gravity of his conviction and the irreversible impact of his actions.
