David Williams, aged 53 and a resident of Llanon, has been handed a prison sentence of 21 months following his attempt to groom a young girl through online communications. The incident unfolded after authorities uncovered his intentions during a covert police operation designed to monitor and document his actions.

Williams believed he was engaging with a girl named ‘Beth’ in online chats, but in reality, the conversations were part of an undercover police setup aimed at preventing child exploitation. Throughout these exchanges, Williams expressed a clear desire to meet the girl in person, indicating plans to buy her gifts and discuss sexual activities, which raised serious concerns about his intentions.
