BRADFORD MAN JAILED FOR HISTORIC SEX OFFENCES
Two men have been sentenced to a combined total of 37 years in prison after being convicted of numerous sexual offenses involving children over several decades.David Stansfield, aged 61 and residing in Bradford, and Ian Stansfield, aged 74 from Hornsea in East Yorkshire, were found guilty in June 2022 of multiple counts of rape and indecent assault.
On Monday, the court imposed a sentence of 16 years for David Stansfield, along with an additional year on licence, while Ian Stansfield received a 21-year term plus one year on licence.
Both offenders will be registered on the sex offenders register for the remainder of their lives.
Detective Constable Stephen Neesham from Bradford District Safeguarding commented: “David and Ian are clearly dangerous individuals who committed heinous offenses.
We are pleased with the substantial sentences, which reflect the severity of the abuse endured by the victims and the lasting impact on their lives.
The victims have demonstrated remarkable courage and bravery in coming forward after many years.
I hope this serves as a strong message to others who may have experienced similar abuse to report it.
We assure victims that their reports will be thoroughly investigated, and we are committed to seeking justice for them.”
