DAVID SPELLMAN FROM CHORLEY ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SEXUAL ASSAULT IN SOUTHPORT

According to court reports, Spellman attended a party in Southport, where he was described as a disruptive presence. Prosecutor Jonathan Lowe stated that Spellman had consumed a significant amount of alcohol during the event and was considered a 'nuisance' by other guests. Following the party, Spellman, who resides on Brancker Street in Chorley, engaged in a sexual assault against a teenage boy who cannot be publicly identified due to legal restrictions. The assault involved Spellman touching the boy's genitalia, an act that has caused considerable distress to the victim. During police interviews, Spellman claimed he could not recall the comments he made or the events that transpired after the gathering, suggesting a lack of memory regarding his actions.

Despite his claims of amnesia, Spellman later pleaded guilty in court to engaging in sexual activity with a minor. The court was informed that the young victim experienced feelings of anxiety and confusion following the incident, highlighting the emotional impact of the assault.
