CHESTER MAN DAVID KING CAUGHT WITH VILE CHILD PORN AT MANCHESTER AIRPORT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, David King, a 50-year-old taxi driver from Chester, was apprehended after an incident at Manchester Airport that revealed his disturbing involvement with child sexual abuse images. The incident unfolded in September 2011, when King was at Terminal 3 arrivals, preparing to meet a passenger. During this time, he was writing out a signboard and inadvertently left his mobile phone unattended on a surface nearby.

Unaware of his oversight, King departed from the airport premises without realizing that his phone was still in the terminal. It was only later that he attempted to retrieve the device, calling the airport's lost property office to check if it had been handed in. The staff confirmed that the phone was safe and stored in the lost property department. To verify ownership, they requested the security PIN to unlock the device.

However, a member of the airport staff, upon viewing the contents of the phone, was shocked to discover a significant collection of illegal and highly disturbing images. The device contained numerous pornographic pictures involving young girls aged between eight and fourteen, along with obscene video clips. The staff member immediately alerted authorities, leading to the police being called to the scene.

Police officers swiftly detained King, and he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images. During the legal proceedings, King pleaded guilty to 32 charges related to the possession of pornographic images and videos depicting minors. The case was heard at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, where the seriousness of his actions was acknowledged.

In court, prosecutor Kate Hammond detailed the nature of the material found on King’s phone, emphasizing the vile and exploitative content involving young girls. The defense, represented by Peter Barnett, stated that King, who resides on Mason Street in Chester, had already confessed his misconduct to his family. It was also revealed that his relationship with his wife had ended as a result of his actions.

Judge Leslie Hull delivered the sentence, describing the images as ‘vile’ and emphasizing the gravity of the offense. King was sentenced to a three-month community order and was required to sign the sex offenders’ register, marking a significant legal consequence for his disturbing conduct.
