NORTH SOMERSET EX-TEACHER JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A former educator has been sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered 4,840 indecent images of children stored on his electronic devices.David Jordan, aged 72 from North Somerset, received a 27-month jail term at Bristol Crown Court this Tuesday.
The investigation was initiated after a social media company provided information to the police.
When law enforcement searched his residence in Hutton, they discovered multiple confiscated mobile phones, laptops, and memory cards containing incriminating material.
More than 2,000 images were classified as the most severe category of child abuse material.
Evidence revealed that Jordan had also shared three disturbing videos featuring children with others, although there was no proof he directly abused any minors himself.
Detective Constable Lucinda Darby from Avon and Somerset Police described the content as depicting victims of severe child sexual exploitation and condemned Jordan’s actions as “abhorrent.” Jordan admitted to committing three counts of producing indecent images of children and two counts of distributing such videos.
The police highlighted their two-year effort to remove offenders like him from the community and expressed hopes that this case will serve as a warning to others engaged in similar illegal acts.
