INJUSTICE: EX-BOYFRIEND OF MURDERED WOMAN GETS LIFE FOR BRUTAL ATTACK
A 39-year-old man from Bradford named David Hoyle was found guilty of fatally stabbing his former partner Rebecca Bamber, aged 43, in Widnes during June.Hoyle initially attacked Ms.
Bamber using wine bottles and then continued to stab her multiple times as she attempted to flee the scene.
Court reports revealed that Hoyle had a 15-year history of a relationship with Ms.
Bamber and had reconnected with her via Facebook in May.
Following a night spent together at her residence in Widnes, Hoyle carried out a violent assault witnessed by a neighbor, who heard screams and observed Ms.
Bamber with blood on her, mouthing 'phone the police' from her window.
The neighbor dialed 999 and saw Hoyle standing over Ms.
Bamber wielding a knife before casually leaving the scene in his van, smiling at the witness.
Later, a police chase led to Hoyle’s arrest, during which he was Tasered, and he made no verbal response.
He admitted to manslaughter but faced trial for murder and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 25 years.
Prosecutor Richard Riley characterized the attack as 'brutal and sustained,' noting that Ms.
Bamber was stabbed 11 times with two knives and three broken bottles.
Authorities stated Hoyle showed no remorse, and his motives remain unknown.
The victim’s family issued a statement conveying their grief and desire for closure.
Court evidence included footage of Hoyle leaving calmly after the attack and a recording of the neighbor’s frantic 999 call, made during his attempt to assist Ms.
Bamber.
