BRIERLEY HILL MAN DAVID HORNBUCKLE CAUGHT WITH 24,500 VILE CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IMAGES AND MOVIES
In October 2012, a disturbing case emerged involving David Hornbuckle, a 52-year-old resident of Brierley Hill, who was found in possession of an extensive collection of child pornography.Authorities uncovered more than 24,500 indecent images and videos depicting children subjected to horrific sexual abuse, during a police raid on his former residence in Collis Street, Amblecote.
Prosecutor Mark Rees informed Wolverhampton Crown Court that the police seized Hornbuckle’s computer equipment, which contained a staggering number of illicit materials.
The content included not only images and videos of children being sexually exploited but also extreme pornography involving bestiality, highlighting the severity and depravity of the material found.
Hornbuckle faced multiple charges, admitting to five counts of producing indecent images of children, three counts of creating indecent moving images, and possessing 881 prohibited still images along with six prohibited moving images.
Additionally, he confessed to possessing an extreme pornographic image and another 113 extreme images, some of which depicted acts that threatened a person’s life in explicit and realistic detail.
During the court proceedings, Judge Michael Challinor addressed Hornbuckle directly, emphasizing the heinous nature of the images.
The judge remarked, “Most people fail to understand why anyone would wish to download the vile sort of material that was found on your computer,” underscoring the gravity of Hornbuckle’s offenses.
Despite the severity of the crimes, the judge decided against immediate imprisonment.
Instead, Hornbuckle was sentenced to a three-year community order, which includes three years of supervision and a requirement to attend the Sex Offenders Programme.
Furthermore, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next five years and was placed under a ten-year Sexual Offenders Protection Order to monitor and restrict his activities.
Defense lawyer Andrew Jackson highlighted the personal toll of the case, noting that Hornbuckle, now residing on Church Hill in Brierley Hill, had experienced devastating consequences since his arrest, including the breakdown of his marriage.
Jackson emphasized that Hornbuckle was already taking proactive steps to address his issues and seek help, aiming to rebuild his life and prevent future offenses.
