Jamie Shaw, a former councillor for Stourport and a former leader of Wyre Forest District Council, has confessed to creating indecent images of a minor.
He, aged 69, who held the position of council leader for eight years during the 1990s, admitted to the offence at Worcester Crown Court on September 11 of the previous year.
Shaw received a prison sentence of six months, which was suspended for a period of 18 months.
