DUNDEE POLICE OFFICER ACCUSED OF STALKING EX-PARTNER USING CCTV
A 42-year-old police officer named David Fearn faced a stalking charge when he appeared before Dundee Sheriff Court. The allegations state that Fearn utilized a remote connection to observe CCTV footage at Nicola Thomson's workplace, a hair salon, over a period of 20 months as part of ongoing harassment.
Prosecutors allege that his conduct included spying on Nicola’s emails, trying to gain access to her mobile phone account, repeatedly loitering near her residence, and once attempting to restrain her by placing his hands around her neck.
Furthermore, he is accused of driving his vehicle close to hers, sounding his horn, making gestures, and causing her to halt her journey.
He also allegedly issued threats and used offensive language directed at Nicola.
These behaviors reportedly made her fearful and anxious at various addresses in Dundee from January 1, 2012, to August 14 of the previous year.
When appearing before the court on a single charge of stalking, Fearn did not enter a plea, and the case was put off for further inquiry.
The sheriff granted bail but imposed restrictions preventing him from entering two specific streets in Dundee.
