DAVID BUNN SENTENCED IN FORDINGBRIDGE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS

In a recent court ruling, a man from Fordingbridge, identified as David James Bunn, faced serious legal consequences for his involvement in sexual assault offences. The incident in question occurred on December 25, 2020, and involved two separate criminal acts: one charge of assault by penetration and another of sexual assault.

On October 14, Salisbury Crown Court delivered its verdict, sentencing Bunn to a total of two years in prison. However, this sentence was not to be served immediately, as it was suspended for a period of two years. This means that Bunn will not serve time in prison unless he commits another offence within the suspension period.

In addition to the suspended prison sentence, the court imposed a comprehensive set of restrictions and requirements on Bunn. He was ordered to adhere to a 10-year restraining order, which is designed to prevent any contact with the victim and to protect them from further harm. Furthermore, Bunn was mandated to complete 80 days of unpaid work, contributing to community service efforts, and 55 days of rehabilitation requirements aimed at addressing underlying issues related to his behaviour.

As part of the court's financial penalties, Bunn was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £156. These measures collectively aim to serve justice, protect the victim, and promote rehabilitation for the offender.
