ALYTH MAN DAVID BUICK SEXUALLY ASSAULTS TEEN AT DUNDEE STEPS CONCERT

Now working at stagecoach in perth Inveralmond depot In June 2018, a disturbing incident occurred during a concert by the popular band Steps at Slessor Gardens in Dundee, involving a man from Alyth named David Buick.

Buick, who was 47 years old at the time, attended the event with his husband, and the couple was reportedly among the crowd dancing and enjoying the music.

Witnesses observed that both Buick and his partner appeared to be heavily intoxicated during the concert.

The incident came to light when Buick was accused of inappropriate and criminal behavior towards a 16-year-old boy, who for legal reasons cannot be named.

The court heard that Buick engaged in a series of inappropriate remarks and actions that culminated in him sexually assaulting the teenager.

The court proceedings revealed that Buick had approached the young boy, who was attending the concert with friends, and made offensive comments about his own husband and the teenager's sexuality.

According to the prosecution, Buick initially made a provocative comment to the teenager, asking, “He’s a big ****, isn’t he?” referring to his own husband.

He then inquired, “Are you a ****?” when the teenager indicated he was not gay and tried to distance himself.

Despite being rebuffed, Buick persisted, repeating his earlier remark about his husband.

The court was told that Buick then moved behind the teenager, wrapping his arm around the boy’s stomach over his clothing.

The teenager instinctively pushed Buick’s hands away, but Buick continued to make lewd remarks, saying, “Stop it.

You like it, you big ****.” It was at this point that Buick was reported to have groped the teenager, an act that was witnessed by the boy’s friends.

They saw Buick’s inappropriate contact and quickly intervened, pulling the teenager away from the situation.

The incident was immediately reported to security personnel at the concert, who then escorted Buick to speak with police officers.

Buick was subsequently detained and taken into custody.

During the court proceedings, Buick admitted to the sexual assault that took place on June 22 at Slessor Gardens.

The case was initially delayed due to a missing report from the criminal justice and social work team, which was later located, allowing the case to proceed.

A report from the Tay Project, an organization responsible for delivering sex offender treatment programs, was also presented to the court, indicating the seriousness of Buick’s actions and the need for appropriate intervention.

In sentencing, the court decided to place Buick under a community payback order, which includes a six-month period of supervision.

This decision was made by Sheriff Rafferty, who emphasized the importance of monitoring Buick’s behavior moving forward.

Buick’s address was listed as Glebe Crescent, Alyth, and he was found guilty of sexually assaulting the teenage boy at the Dundee concert.

The case highlights the importance of vigilance and security at public events, especially when alcohol and large crowds are involved, and underscores the ongoing efforts to protect minors from sexual misconduct in such settings.
