MAN SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
On 17 November 2020, David Boulton received his prison sentence at Shrewsbury Crown Court after entering a guilty plea.
The 60-year-old resident of Langland Road, Oswestry, was indicted on 21 charges, which included the rape of a child under the age of 13, sexual assault, encouraging or inducing a child under 13 to participate in sexual acts, and the production of indecent images.
The sentence was handed down following an investigation carried out by Shropshire’s Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) team.
Detective Inspector Mat Crisp commented: “This case was particularly disturbing, and I am glad that this individual will now serve a significant prison term for his reprehensible conduct.
“It is often difficult for victims of abuse to come forward.
I hope this sentencing sends a strong message to any victims who may be hesitant about speaking out that justice can be achieved.
Such outcomes offer some reassurance to victims and their families.”
