LINCOLNSHIRE POLICE OFFICER FIRED FOR VIEWING PORN ON DUTY AND MISCONDUCT
A police officer who met up with his secret lover and viewed pornographic websites while on duty has been dismissed from Lincolnshire Police.PC Darren Perry also failed to respond appropriately when the woman reported domestic violence, and a second woman reported similar allegations, which he also ignored, instead sending her sexual messages.
The misconduct panel found Perry's behavior amounted to gross misconduct.
Perry, who resigned from the police force three weeks prior to the hearing, previously admitted to 12 breaches of professional standards between August 2014 and July 2016.
During one incident, Perry watched footage of an adult webcam performer after she reported threats made against her on social media.
He later uploaded the footage to his phone and showed it to his lover.
The panel chairwoman, Jane Clark, stated that Perry had used his authority to conduct personal activities, including sending sexually explicit messages, exchanging intimate photographs, and watching porn, which would shock the public.
"The public would be appalled to know what he was watching between attending incidents involving vulnerable people," she said.
Perry also sent hundreds of sexual texts during duty hours and made inappropriate comments about a victim of a high-profile child abuse case.
Additionally, he failed to pass on crucial information about a suspected drug dealer he received from a woman.
The panel concluded that his actions warranted immediate dismissal without notice.
