DARREN LE GALLEZ FROM GUERNSEY SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL
In a recent court case that has left the community in shock, Darren Le Gallez, a 33-year-old resident of Guernsey, was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for his involvement in the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.The court heard that Le Gallez had downloaded more than 15,000 indecent images of children, a staggering number that underscores the severity of his actions.
During the proceedings, Le Gallez pleaded guilty to 21 counts of making indecent photographs and videos of children under the age of 16, as well as two counts of distributing such material.
The authorities uncovered that he possessed a total of 928 videos, which collectively had a running time of approximately 49 hours.
This extensive collection of illicit content highlights the disturbing extent of his activities.
Some of the most distressing footage was played to the Royal Court during the sentencing phase, causing visible distress among those present.
The images and videos, which depicted the abuse of minors, served as a stark reminder of the heinous nature of Le Gallez’s crimes.

Deputy Bailiff Richard McMahon delivered the sentence, emphasizing that the punishment needed to reflect the community’s profound abhorrence of such conduct.
