DANNY MOFFAT FROM CARDENDEN INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE OFFENSES AT QUEENS HOTEL
A 38-year-old man named Danny Moffat, originally from Lawrence Park, Kinglassie, has been linked to a series of troubling incidents at a pub located in Cardenden. The events, which spanned over several months, culminated in his appearance before Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where he faced multiple charges related to his conduct at the Queens Hotel in Cardenden. On May 14th of the previous year, Moffat was accused of engaging in a disturbing act of public indecency. According to court records, he deliberately pulled down his trousers and underwear in a sexual manner in front of a woman at the Queens Hotel. During this incident, he also shouted and swore loudly, creating a scene that drew the attention of other patrons. Furthermore, he attempted to physically assault the woman by grabbing her arm and pulling her toward him, an act that added to the severity of his misconduct.
Later that year, on October 7th, Moffat returned to the same venue and committed further acts of violence and vandalism. Witnesses reported that he threw a drink over another woman, causing her distress and discomfort. In addition to this assault, he caused damage to the premises by pulling down a CCTV camera, which compromised the security system, and smashing a window, resulting in property damage. The court also heard that on the same day, Moffat engaged in vandalism on Orebank Road in Cardenden, where he threw a stone at a window, breaking it, and damaged a vehicle by smashing its wing mirror.
It was revealed during the court proceedings that Moffat was already under a restriction of liberty order at the time of these incidents, indicating ongoing issues with compliance and behavior. Sheriff Krista Johnston condemned his actions, describing his conduct as disgraceful, especially considering the impact on the woman at her workplace. The court took into account his previous restrictions and behavior, ultimately sentencing him to a nine-month electronic monitoring tag, a fine of £580, and a community payback order with a year's supervision. The judge emphasized the seriousness of his actions but chose to narrowly avoid a custodial sentence, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the need for rehabilitation.
