KIDSGROVE PERVERT DANIEL WILSON CAUGHT WITH CHILD PORN AND STUN GUN IN STAFFORDSHIRE
In April 2017, authorities uncovered disturbing evidence during a raid on the residence of Daniel Wilson, a man residing in Kidsgrove, Staffordshire.The police investigation revealed that Wilson possessed a significant collection of illegal child exploitation material, including over 250 explicit images and videos depicting minors.
The search was conducted on July 5, 2016, when officers seized multiple electronic devices from his home, specifically three computers, which contained a total of 279 still and moving images.
Among these were particularly extreme pornographic images, highlighting the severity of the material found.
During the course of the search, law enforcement officials also discovered a stun gun concealed beneath Wilson’s bed.
The stun gun, which appeared to be non-functional, was an item Wilson had acquired when he was a young teenager.
The device was found to be filled with gel, rendering it incapable of delivering an electric shock, and it had remained under his bed for approximately 20 years.
Wilson was subsequently arrested and faced multiple charges, including possession of a stun gun, making indecent images of children on three separate occasions, and possessing an extreme pornographic image.
At Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Wilson, aged 36, pleaded guilty to all charges.
His defense attorney, Simon Leech, explained that the stun gun was an inert relic from his youth, given to him by older teenagers who could not make it work.
Leech emphasized that Wilson was a responsible individual with a strong work ethic, currently employed and holding good references.
He argued that the images were downloaded sporadically over a period of five to six years, suggesting no concentrated or obsessive interest.
Judge David Fletcher sentenced Wilson to a one-year prison term, suspended for two years.
Additionally, Wilson was subjected to a five-year sexual harm prevention order and will be registered as a sex offender for seven years.
The judge expressed his concerns about the nature of the material, noting that children are being exploited because of a ready market of viewers.
He acknowledged Wilson’s guilty plea and lack of prior criminal history but emphasized that such material does not simply appear by chance.
The judge also remarked that the stun gun was an unusable relic, likely acquired during his youth, and reiterated the importance of protecting children from exploitation, condemning the existence of such vile content and the demand for it.
