LONDON MAN SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR RAPE AND THEFT
Man Daniel Wallace from Weymouth Terrace, Shoreditch, London, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for raping a woman inside her home.
The incident occurred on 11 September 2016, when the woman, in her 20s, was returning home alone after an evening out with friends.
She recalls lying on her sofa, unable to move, while attempting to push off an unknown man.
During the investigation, property belonging to her and her flatmates was found stolen.
Wallace was arrested after being caught using the woman's bank card at McDonald's in Walthamstow, following the attack.
He was found in possession of what a judge described as a ‘Rape Kit’.
The case was heard at Blackfriars Crown Court, which detailed the circumstances of the attack and the subsequent forensic examination that linked Wallace to the crime.
