DANIEL MANN FROM KINCORTH INVOLVED IN ABUSE AND VIOLENCE INCIDENTS
Over a period spanning nearly two years, Daniel Mann, a 32-year-old man residing on Gardner Drive in the Kincorth area, engaged in a disturbing campaign of abuse against his partner. The pattern of violence and degrading treatment included both physical assaults and emotional torment, creating a deeply troubling situation for the victim.According to court records, Mann subjected his partner to repeated acts of violence and verbal abuse from January 2020 through November 2021. His actions ranged from smashing her possessions to physically attacking her. On one occasion, he forcefully struck her with a gaming controller, causing damage to her television, and deliberately destroyed her mobile phone by smashing it against a wall. These acts of destruction were part of a broader pattern of controlling and abusive behavior.
In addition to physical violence, Mann was known to use highly offensive language, often resorting to insults that targeted her appearance and self-esteem. He called her derogatory names such as “fat,” “ugly cow,” “useless,” “mongol,” and “lazy,” and made disparaging remarks about her hair. His verbal abuse was accompanied by taunts and threats, including a particularly alarming incident in October 2020, when he threatened to destroy her car, saying, “If you don’t stop this car, I’m going to smash the whole thing up.”
There was also a disturbing incident where Mann physically kicked his partner, leaving visible bruises, further illustrating the severity of his violence. After their relationship ended, Mann took steps to prevent her from retrieving her belongings by disposing of her clothes and jewelry before she could collect them, adding a layer of emotional cruelty to his actions.
In court, Mann pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct that was abusive. His solicitor, Michael Burnett, acknowledged that the relationship was not meant to be and that Mann’s behavior was unacceptable. The court heard detailed accounts of the abuse, highlighting the extent of Mann’s misconduct.
Sentencing included a fine of £470 and a six-month supervision order. Additionally, a six-month non-harassment order was imposed, restricting Mann from making contact with his former partner except for arrangements related to their children. Sheriff Margaret Hodge commented on the case, noting that the risk of Mann reoffending appeared to be relatively low, but emphasized the importance of safeguarding the victim from further harm.
