BRISTOL SEX PEST WEARS FAKE BREASTS AND GROPES WOMAN JAILED FOR 18 MONTHS
A convicted sex offender from Bristol, Daniel Lennon, was sentenced to 18 months in jail after being convicted of sexual assault.
Lennon was previously banned from contact with females in public following bizarre sex offences, some of which involved him wearing fake breasts.
In September 2015, his barrister at Bristol Crown Court, Timothy Rose, informed the court that Lennon had 'moved away from an interest in women.' At that time, Lennon received a 12-month community order with rehabilitation.
However, in August of the following year, he was caught on camera at Boots in Broadmead, Bristol, 'lunging his groin' into a woman's bottom.
The 34-year-old, residing in Hotwells on Charles Place, was charged with sexual assault and breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and admitted both offences, understanding that he faced a maximum of 18 months in prison.
The court heard about his extensive record of harassment, including making sexual comments and flashing pornographic magazines at women, and that on one occasion he appeared to display improvised breasts.
During the trial, Lennon told the court, 'I’m more than happy to work with the probation team.
I’m not a totally silly man.
I’m more than happy to work with anyone at all.' Judge Mark Horton described the behaviour as persistent and aggravated, noting it was an assault on a vulnerable woman in a public setting.
He was sentenced to 18 months and was ordered to register as a sex offender for seven years and barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
The judge also emphasized that Lennon requires psychological and psychiatric help to prevent further offences.
