CURTIS PAGE, EPSOM SEX OFFENDER AND FORMER WORLD CHAMPION, SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS IN PRISON
In a significant legal development this week, Curtis Page, a well-known figure in the martial arts community and a former world champion kickboxer, was sentenced to four years in prison at Isleworth Crown Court. The sentencing followed his conviction on two counts of indecent assault, marking a serious turn in a case that has garnered considerable public attention.Page, who previously served as the head of the Great British Martial Arts Association, was brought before the court to face charges related to his alleged misconduct. The court proceedings revealed that he had been convicted last summer of these two counts of indecent assault, which are considered serious criminal offenses involving inappropriate sexual contact.
The defendant, residing on College Road in Epsom, was also the subject of allegations involving multiple sexual offenses against three young girls, with one of the victims being as young as 12 years old. These allegations spanned a decade, from 1985 to 1995, and painted a disturbing picture of misconduct over an extended period. Despite these serious accusations, the jury at Isleworth Crown Court found him not guilty of additional charges, including five counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault, and one count of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13. These verdicts were delivered last week after a thorough trial.
Furthermore, Page was acquitted of four other counts of indecent assault by a majority decision on April 3. The court's decision to convict him on the two counts of indecent assault and sentence him to four years reflects the gravity of the offenses for which he was found guilty. The case has attracted widespread media coverage, highlighting issues of sexual misconduct and the importance of justice for victims, especially in cases involving prominent community figures like Page.
