EX-SOLDIER JAILED FOR ASSAULTING PARTNER IN IRVINE

2013:

A former soldier was sentenced to five months in prison after assaulting his partner at a social club. Craig Gillies, aged 24, struck Kerry McIntyre on the head during an argument at Beecham’s Social Club in Irvine last November. The father of three, residing on Livingstone Terrace in Irvine, was acquitted of sending threatening texts. Gillies, who had previously been convicted three times for domestic violence and peace breaches, was also sentenced to an additional 80 days for violating probation related to a prior offence, as detailed by Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
