DAD GUILTY OF STRANGULATION AFTER DRUG BINGE AND DOMESTIC ABUSE
Craig Clack, a 31-year-old man from Ainsdale, was sentenced to 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to intentionally strangling his partner, Hayley Farrell, during an incident that followed a 14-day drug binge. The judge described him as a "danger to the public." Clack and Ms Farrell had been in a relationship for approximately two and a half years, during which they welcomed a child.
Ms Farrell reported that abuse began around the time of the child's birth, with Clack often delusional and accusing her of infidelity, leading to him forcing her to undergo lie detector tests at a significant cost.
The incident in which Ms Farrell was strangled occurred after Clack, high on drugs, flew into a rage when she refused to give him money he owed her, and he put his hands around her throat and threw her into a mirror.
Ms Farrell managed to call her sister, who contacted the police.
Although Clack initially pleaded not guilty to charges of actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation, he later took a plea deal admitting to the strangulation.
He was initially released on bail but was re-sentenced to custody on August 4.
Ms Farrell expressed her fears for future safety, noting that Clack has seven children with seven women and warning others about his personality and manipulativeness.
