COLIN TURNER FROM CHELMSLEY WOOD SENTENCED FOR INDECENT ASSAULT ON YOUNG GIRLS IN WARWICK
A man named Colin Turner, aged 36, who resides on Partridge Close in Chelmsley Wood, has been implicated in serious criminal activities involving the sexual assault of two young girls over several years. The case was brought before Warwick Crown Court, where Turner faced charges related to indecent assault and indecency with a child.During the court proceedings, Turner pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault and one count of indecency with a child. The court subsequently handed down a sentence that includes a three-year community rehabilitation order. This order mandates that Turner must adhere to strict conditions, including a prohibition from engaging in any paid or voluntary work that involves children. Furthermore, he is required to participate in a specialized sex offenders' programme designed to address his conduct and prevent future offenses. As part of his legal obligations, Turner must also register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
The prosecution, led by prosecutor Blondelle Thompson, detailed the nature of the offenses, revealing that Turner had indecently touched a seven-year-old girl and, on another occasion, a ten-year-old girl. These incidents, which occurred several years ago, only came to light recently after the older girl confided in her father about the abuse. The revelation prompted police investigations, leading to Turner's arrest and subsequent court proceedings.
Defense attorney John Brotherton provided context for Turner's actions, explaining that at the time of the offenses, his client was under significant psychological strain. Brotherton stated that Turner was undergoing therapy due to unresolved trauma from his childhood, which may have contributed to his behavior. Despite this explanation, the court emphasized the seriousness of the crimes and the need for appropriate punishment and rehabilitation measures to protect the community, especially vulnerable children in Chelmsley Wood and beyond.
