COLIN INNES INVOLVED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN AUCHTERARDER AND DUNBLANE
Thirty-six-year-old Colin Innes, a resident of Dunblane, found himself at the center of a serious domestic violence incident that took place in Auchterarder. The events unfolded late at night when Innes's girlfriend returned home around 4am after spending time with friends. Suspecting infidelity, Innes confronted her aggressively, leading to a heated argument. According to court records, Innes went as far as checking her mobile phone, claiming he believed she had been unfaithful with other men. This suspicion ignited a confrontation that quickly escalated into a verbal and physical altercation.During the dispute, Innes began shouting and swearing at his partner, Susan Brown, accusing her of cheating. The situation worsened when Innes, in a fit of rage, pushed Brown into a bath after she attempted to retreat to the bathroom to escape his aggressive behavior. Court documents reveal that Brown had left for work earlier that day, leaving Innes alone in the house. She returned around 4am, only to be met with Innes’s mounting suspicion and anger. The tension was further inflamed by a knock on the door and a man shouting for his partner, which Innes interpreted as confirmation of his suspicions.
Following the incident, Brown tried to contact her daughter, but the disturbance prompted police to be called to the scene. Innes admitted to the court that he had shouted and sworn during the altercation and that he had pushed Brown, causing her to fall into the bath. It is important to note that Innes has a troubling history of domestic violence, having served two previous jail terms for similar offenses. His upcoming sentencing is scheduled for September 23. The court acknowledged that this recent incident was less severe than his past crimes but emphasized that it marked his third domestic violence offense. As a result, the likelihood of jail time remains high. Innes has previously sought help for anger management issues, but his relationship with Brown has now ended, leaving a trail of concern over his pattern of behavior.
