DOUBLE KILLER DENIES CHILD PORN DESPITE MURDER CONFESSIONS
Double killer Colin Howell denied the sick child porn on his computer was his despite his double murder and sexual assault confessions. The dark abuse was uncovered on a computer found in the caravan he had been living in.
The dental surgeon plotted and carried out the murders of his wife Lesley and her husband Trevor Buchanan, who were both 32 at the time of their deaths.
He walked into a police station and admitted his crimes.
The images were discovered on January 30, 2009, more than 17 years he murdered the pair.
Howell, now 67, was then quizzed about a series of images of children aged around seven years old that had been found by the investigating officers.
The report states that Howell's confession led to a new police investigation and his conviction, and the later conviction of his former lover and partner in crime, Hazel Stewart, who remains in prison serving a life sentence.
Howell was also convicted in 2011 of sexually assaulting five female patients and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Despite this, he was never prosecuted in connection with the images found on his computer, labelled by the PSNI as Police Item DS1.
The computer was found in his caravan after his American wife Kyle Jorgensen discovered his affair with a dental nurse.
The PSNI seized the tech during the investigation into Howell’s claims of double murder.
The article includes an exchange between the police and Howell during an interview about the child porn images, where Howell claims he had never seen such images before and insists they are not his.
