COLIN BOON FROM WESTBURY ADMITS TO CHILD SEX ABUSE AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY IN WILTSHIRE
In a significant development at Swindon Crown Court, Colin Boon, a 61-year-old resident of Westbury, Wiltshire, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the possession of highly illegal and disturbing images.The case, which was initially set for trial this week, involved over a dozen allegations concerning the possession of indecent images of children, including more than 120 in the most severe category, which depicted acts of rape and torture involving minors.
Prior to the scheduled trial, discussions took place between the prosecutor, Stephen Dent, and Boon’s legal representative, Charley Pattison.
As a result of these negotiations, Boon was rearraigned at Swindon Crown Court yesterday.
During the hearing, he entered a plea of not guilty to one specific charge of attempted sexual communication with a minor, identified in court only as “Shannon.” However, Boon did admit guilt to 13 other charges, which encompassed the possession of indecent and prohibited images of children, as well as illegal images involving animals.
When asked to respond to these charges, Boon, who was visibly holding his white cane, answered “on the advice of counsel, guilty” to each one.
The charges included possession of 125 images classified as Category A, the most serious, which involved child rape; over 80 images in Category B; 190 images in Category C; 14 prohibited images of children; and 77 extreme pornographic images depicting sexual acts between humans and animals.
The case was adjourned by Judge Peter Crabtree to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report and the collection of medical evidence.
The judge issued a stern warning to Boon’s legal team, indicating that the starting point for sentencing could be a year’s imprisonment.
Boon is scheduled to be sentenced on March 22.
Furthermore, the judge clarified that Boon’s guilty pleas would result in him being subject to sex offender notification requirements.
This means that he will be legally obliged to inform police of any changes to his address or personal circumstances, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities in the community.
